Earlier today, we announced our best selling retro sweets of the last year.
To celebrate your favourite buys of the year, we thought we would give you the chance to win the number one best selling sweet of 2011…
The Giant Strawberry!
These gummy greats were only added to our retro sweet range back in the Spring of last year, so they really have been a hit with all you sweet fans to zoom the number one spot!
100% Chewbz approved (we steal a bag or two from the warehouse… shhh) we agree that these are so so yummy, they are a well deserved champion!

I can see why these were the bestseller! They are the ultimate sweet! I remember my first year of secondary school, an ice cream van would park outside the gates at the end of the day and we’d all rush to get the Strawbs before they ran out. They were 5p each then and I’d save up as many pound coins as I could and buy loads. They’d be gone by the next day!!! I’ve not had any in years 🙂

i love these sweets because the taste delicious and there really chewy. When my sisters and i buy them we have a race to see who can eat them the fastest. When it’s just me i bite the stalks off and eat them like real strawberries, savouring everey last bite! They are the most delicious sweets ever and i always buy them when I go to the sweet shop on mondays. the chewiness makes them last longer and i love the way it sticks in your teeth and you pick it out of your teeth with your tounge. I would like to win this jar of sweets because me and my sisters can have more fun times with these and there my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE THEEEEESE! I like how they get stuck between my teeth and I make stupid faces trying to use my tongue to free them haha! They’re especially good sweets to use in a ‘How many can you eat at once’ competition with your friends! Slobberlicious 🙂

These remind me of the summer we went strawberry picking & our youngest wanted to have the heaviest punnet & she did… but little did we know when we where paying that she’d put pebbles in the bottom of her punnet & we’d ended up paying for them :O
Yes I think we’ll stick to buying strawberry sweets from the shops rather than going for the real thing 🙂

omg!! i love these! they are my fave sweet ever! the only thing is i got 5 kids who love them too. have you ever seen the episode of the simpsons where homer is trying to eat some crisps but everytime he goes to put it in his mouth a puppy jumps from out of nowhere and knicks it from his hand??? that is exactly what its like for me with this sweets i hardly get any!!!

Reminds me of my High School days when we should’ve been running around the track but instead walked and nommed these strawberrys at the same time. Also they are suitable for vegetarians :D, I need not say more.
I craved these when I was pregnant with my now 8 year old, I miss having an excuse to eat lots at once, so winning a big pot full of strawb goodness would be perfect excuse to indulge. Will also be fun to wind the hubby up that I’m craving again, see if he tuns a bit pale ;-D

Love sweets more now than I did when I was a kid! I think it may be as a kid you always got sweets & as an adult you know how much of a treat it is to have some sweets.

These remind me so much of the cinema when I was little 🙂 my mum used to help me squish as many as I could into the pick and mix tubs and when I was near the end I’d suck them to try and make them last even longer. Favorite sweets of all time no contest.

I would LOVE to win these sweeties for my ever-so-sweet kids (aged 4 and 2 years old). My little girl (4) loves strawberries and both of them love gummy sweets. When I was little my brother and I used to put these in sandwiches and put them down as “fruit” on our five-a-day list at school. We ate so many that at the end of term we both won a trip to Bristol Zoo and both got our picture in the local paper with a headline that said “Brothers Fruity Fitness Reward”! LOL!!!

These are my all time favourite childhood sweets. These bring back so many memories! I remember going to the sweet shop and having my pocket money of 50p for the week.. and bending down to look at the array of penny sweets and always spending at least 20 minutes deciding if I wanted 25 apple jacks, and 25 postman pats? or have 5 big strawberries! I remember my brother told me that if you bit it in half, and sucked it.. you could get strawberry jam. Boy i tried!!! Good memories 🙂

I am 49 now & i can remember going to the shop with my Granddad to buy his morning paper,he used to buy me some of these sweets everyday, out of all of my memories this is the one that i remember the clearest.the sweets tasted so good i always shared them with my Granddad while watching him play bowls.

Loved these sweets, they always had a place in my pick ‘n’ mix, despite their rather large size and weight!
Giant Strawberries of obviously the best sweets in the world! My brother wasn’t too happy though when I convinced his 4 year old daughter these were an actually fruit :). I think everybody should experience Giant Strawberries when there feeling a little low and just watch the BIGGEST (Sticky) Smile come across their face 😀

I love any sweets that are sour – bought some once and they made the inside of your mouth wrinkle up – lovely! hubby begged for one even though I told him he wouldn’t like them but he didn’t listen and no sooner had it gone in his mouth than it came out again – luckily we were at the seaside so it went in the water

The great things about giant strawberries is that you can stick them to your gums and have giant red teeth! Brilliant for scaring the kids!

Wow these were mine and my best friend from schools fave when we were younger, used to call in to the corner shop by my childhood home every friday after school to get some together. Would love to win these. My hubby bought me a large box from Costco but I think I had about 5 the rest disappeared. Questioning the 3yr old what happened to my sweets got the lovely answer “daddy shared them” questioned the hubby/sneak thief and I got a very sheepish look and a grin saying the 3yr old told him to eat them, hmmm definitely need to hide anything I want. I need to win to replace the stolen ones and give me chance to hide them and they wont even know I have them muhahaha no sharing

These lovely giant strawberries remind me of the summer and gosh knows, we all need a bit of a reminder right now! Imagine strawberries and cream at a picnic in the park in the summer … but in the winter, one of these giant strawberries with a hot drink by the fire. Yes! Light at the end of a dark dreary winter tunnel 🙂

Twenty Years ago I signed up for a season of strawberry picking. I was invited back for the next year because the Farmer said I was a good worker and didn’t scoff all the strawbs. Little did he know that I was mega allergic to them and even had to wear gloves to pick.

When I was younger my dad had a garden full of strawberries & I had my fill but times change but I will have to restrict my 4 grandkids to fewer sweets to protect their teeth & their waistline. I’m sure their parents will be only too glad to share these with them.
